Both races are finally over!

Even though we had a tough time on lotsa stuff but we'll definitely miss it. All the sweat and hardship we went through.. priceless.. These memories will never leave my mind.

Shell Eco-Marathon 2011. It was a 4 days 3 nights stay at Empress Hotel, Sepang. The event was held in SIC (Sepang International Circuit). We opened our very eyes to witness the various teams that come from different places to one location and compete for the title of the most fuel efficient car ever built. We are lack behind schedule on the drive train side and only attempt once on the track. Our car went for half a lap n it died because of a chain misalignment. We learned a lot before and also during the race. Its really not an easy job but its all worthwhile :D

Shell Eco-Marathon 2011

For Bosch Asian Cordless Race 2011, I volunteered as the main driver. I always wanted to try out racing~ Being the driver of a kart is actually very amazing. The thrill when going up to certain speed ( even though our top speed is not high) is very fun! We are not the best but we are definitely not the worst team to compete. Like SEM, we were preparing for this very hard as well. Can even say that both are running parallel at the moment. Yes we R freaking BZ.

During the race day it was actually raining in the morning. We thought it'll be an disadvantage for us but lucky for us the rain did not affect much of our performance. We saw many teams tested their karts during the warm up session, and many have failed to complete 2 laps. Their car will stuck half way or worst, did not even move. So we came up with a plan, which is to go slow on the qualifying round, so that we can make sure we finish both laps, even at a much lower speed. Our plan worked. Only 7 teams manage to get into the quarter finals. After that, we went all out in the quarter finals. We switched to 2nd gear and I had the throttle on full power most of the race. We are no match for the opponent in terms of both speed and maneuverability. Well what I can say is that we tried our best :) The team that beat me was UTHM(University Tun Hussein Onn). Their wheel actually flew out during the semi finals, and that was really a scene. The race marshal even caught the flying wheel with his bare hands.

We consider ourselves as No. 5 because there are 7 teams that entered the finals and 2 did not finish the laps. There ends the story of The Fast 5, getting 5th placing as well :p

Went for the Bosch Asian Cordless Race 2011 briefing today. We received the 1st funding and also the 6 sets of power tools that will be powering our go kart~ The event was quite short and was also more fun compared to the Shell Malaysian Showcase yesterday. Maybe its because of the fact that it is not so formal.

Really can't wait to get the go-kart started~ May the best team win! :D

Had a freaking short semester break. Came back to KL to finish up the last parts of the car (Shell). Was also very happy to find out that we are shortlisted for Bosch Power Tools Asia Cordless Race~ the method to build this other car, using only Bosch power tools as the power source, is gonna be very interesting! Cant wait to start on it~ and also not forgetting to mention the nice funds they will give us to complete the car :D it really is good money~ The winner and 1st runner up gets to go to Beijing~ Hope for the best to our team!

Fully stuffed power packed semester! Not to forget studies along the way and also assignments and other stuff. Good thing though, i kep myself occupied most of the time. The events done for this sem, such as flash mob and masquerade night, made me felt empty once its over. The feeling and satisfaction of successfully completing an event is very.. can't find a good enough word to describe it lolz. This is the reason why I like to join in organizing events~

Masquerade Ball 2011: Demasque la Nuit

Masquerade Ball 2011, organized by Dance Club and Arts and Crafts Society from our very own FES KL campus. I am one of the many committee members that took part preparing for this grand event.

I am posted as the assistant sponsorship manager for this event. It was not an easy job. People would never wanted to fork out money for some event so that the event can run smoothly, they will only do so if there's mutual benefit. Also, I am quite busy with Shell Eco Marathon at the same time. In the end I only managed to get 2 sponsors for the event: Follow Me for products and Shiawase Bento for food. I'm lucky that another committee and the manager obtain a fair amount of sponsor.

As usual, the event came across many problems. Committees have went through sweat and tears to get this done right. There are others who are organizing ball nights at UTAR as well, only one that is more of a trouble to us, which is UTAR Ball 2011. The committee members, so called "Student reps" from Kampar campus, are a bunch of losers that started of the preparation for the event only one month ahead. They even posted a promotional video that is indirectly attacking our event. How can people from the student rep do such things? They even used promos such as DJ Ken and Hitz.fm party crew, but in the end all was canceled and they have to call in some shitty DJ from dunno where named Mr Seeva or something. Using these dirty techniques to lure participants is really.. low. They even used bikini babes as a form of attraction. Only those perverted ones will be attracted to these lousy tactics. Their theme was "Beach party style".. what kind of ball would have such a stupid theme? Graduation dinner turn beach party? The idea was good if it were a beach party, not a BALL. Their proposed venue was the Lost World of Tambun somewhere in Ipoh, but they changed it into a poolside party on the day of the event itself! This shows how good their organizing skills are. Their excuse was they do not have enough participants. I wonder why some people would want to wear such a big hat if they don't have such a big head. Blogging about them makes me mad truly. In the end, I heard news that only around 90 person showed up for their so called "most memorable UTAR Ball". I can only conclude that.. they are really something..

I should not to ruin the blog post by discussing about terrible stuffs.

I have learned a new dance out of this event! If I'm not mistaken, its a ballroom dance called "Rhumba". I really had a lot of fun learning this dance. Not to forget that I have a cute partner as well~ Was so nervous before the performance. Me and the others were all worried and we practiced again and again till we are sick of the song. The song we danced was "Hero" by Enrique Eglesias. When we perfom, I can't see anything except my partner because the followspot is shining right into my eyes.

The night was a memorable one. We all had so much fun and laughter. Was proud to be part of this wonderful event. This made my student life more colorful :D

Energizer Night Race 2011 - April 16th

Didn't manage to join with the guys on year 2010, so I went on 2011. The famous night race was held at the Sepang International Race Circuit this year. All runners are excited to be running in the track that is meant for racing F-1 cars. The night started out well, but to the end, this is what came up:

It became the worst night race ever organized.This race has made almost all of it's 10k participants (Including me and my friends) angry and pissed. The organizer, Expose.com.my, did a really bad job foe the entire event. The worst part for me was the goodies bag distribution. The workers even went to the extend of throwing the goodies bag to the participants because the crowd was out of control. The queue was super long and in the end, the line broke and all hell went loose. One of the workers, even closed the pit lane sliding door right above the heads of the participants. What if the participants did not manage to get out on time? They heads will be cracked by the heavy door lolz. The MC was also very rude to the participants. At one point, she even gave her hp number out to the public to let participants call her and make complaints. This move makes some of the participants think that she's somewhat "gangster", which made me laugh like hell seriously.

My course mates are all so pissed at the event that we vow not to ever join again for the coming years. It'll most probably be the end for energizer night race anyways.

Flash Mob @ FEStival March 2011

FEStival is a yearly carnival organized by our very own SRC(Student Representative Committee). It is held in the field in our campus,below some tall trees and on greens. We, members and committees from the Dance Club, had decided to surprise the entire event by doing a flash mob!

This is my 1st ever flash mob performance! It was so exciting. We practiced for weeks before the performance. Even encountered rain during the rehearsals, which made the planning more tougher. But in the end, all went pretty well.

WOW it's already 2011!

Haven been blogging for like ages.. The laziness in me is everlasting :)

I should write some things down for fun I think.. Maybe a little update.

After finishing my GREAT and FUN internship at Brunsfield, THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH (yeah right), I had 2 days of rest and continued working for the coming WFC( Welcoming Freshmen Concert) which I've volunteered and gotten placed as the stage manager. Well for the usual stage manager, their job scope is:

1. Prepare the stage.

2. Prepare the props and instruments for the event.

3. Make sure the time is not delayed when moving those equipments.

But the stage manager for WFC is more challenging, I need to work as stage+deco manager.. Not to complain but it would be a lot better to have another person do the deco for the stage. Adding more workload, I and 2 other friends are going to perform for the event as well.. It's been so so so so long since I've performed on stage! Was a bit nervous tho. Heard that our performance was quite entertaining *smiles* But we needed more training to get our moves to be more synchronized. More practice would do the trick. Anyways, all well ends well. The event was a success~ and we're gonna have our celebration dinner on the coming February 12th~

Then it's time to start my 3rd semester of the year!

Subjects are:

Mechanical Vibration =Boring

Process Control & Instrumentation = Boring

Heat & Mass Transfer = Best among all so far

Engineering in Society = Lecturer ffk-ed us the 1st week itself

CAD and Manufacture = Class was boring but practical should be fun :)

It's always the case.. Classes are hardly interesting so you can't really blame the lecturer(But some lecturers are to blame). Well I have to work hard to maintain my CGPA!!! I have improved from semester to semester and finally achieved 2nd class upper.. I need to work very hard to maintain my position!

Other than studies, I have a lot on my hand this semester. Imma list all those stuff out.

1. Flash Mob on the 2nd of March (FEStival)

2. Masquerade Ball night on the 14th of April

3. Shell Eco Marathon on July

All of these events are of equal importance. Really looking forward to all of it! Well I need to balance all of those evenly.. which is a tough task but achievable.. Hope all of it goes well..

CNY is just around the corner. Bought 2 clothes the other day. Planning for more on the coming Thursday but is seriously on a tight budget. PTPTN is needed to save my New YEAR!!!

I'm free~ for the moment. Not inspired by anything to blog though. How I went through the week, or you can say weeks, was TOTALLY BOOM. No time to rest. I have a mid-term test every week, and this delayed me from my assignments, which are piling up like corpses in a battlefield, and then I need to rush all those Ass-ses within a short amount of time. I've got to say, it was quite challenging, and somehow quite satisfactory when it's all done. When you discovered something, there is this feel of joy which no one else can take away from you. That will be the feeling of success.

It's already week 9.. Workloads are bundling up like no one's business. The rush is not here yet though. Still dilly-dallying~ What can I say? Life is too short to worry too much~ things will come into place by then.

MOM test took place today. It wasn't that tough. I'll survive. Mistakes are inevitable as always.

During Econs class, my friend asked me whether I'm interested in joining their team in sport's carnival on 8th August. My answer was HELL YEAH! I missed the last one because I need to work for PC Fair, but not this one~ =Time to buff up=

Went to CIMB bank to open a bank account there. This account is for Brunsfield actually.. So there goes another card into my wallet (doesn't make me any richer though). Done that, and on my way back I stopped by the optical shop to get a few sets of lenses which are on offer.

Home at last. Won't be seeing Dr. Tan today. Can't say that I'll miss him though, his lectures are "hypnotizing". Nothing much to add.

This is a movie that should not be missed. It is another movie starring Leonardo Di Caprio. And plus, it is directed by Christopher Nolan, director of "The Dark Night".

The theory in it is just out of ordinary.. The plot runs in a way that you won't have even a slight feeling of boredom. The idea itself is interesting. It tells the viewers about the subconscious state of a person when they are in a dream. This gets me thinking.. the human mind is very special, and it is not thoroughly understood yet. If there is such a thing called the subconscious state, and that we are able to control it, there will be a lot of changes in the human world. We will live different lives and also choose to live lives in other dimensions, rather than the harsh reality. Not to miss this!

I've just finished watching this movie.

This movie is about a mental facility located on an island, called Shutter Island. Leonardo Di Caprio stars in this movie. The plot in this movie is quiet tricky.. and the ending is much more unexpected. Movies like these makes me wonder.. wonder how vulnerable is the human mind. How the human mind can be manipulated easily.. When the whole world says your going crazy, then you might just be. Maybe you already are.

If accepted, it will be a good thing. No hassle to apply for another one. 6 days a week is normal for construction, and wages are fine~ even though 8 to 5 is a bit early, but I'll do fine. Lots a things happened recently but I did not write it down here..

Just finished my finals for Y2S2 on Friday~ enjoyed the time of my life after that~ Experienced some new stuff.. just say that you must know when to quit, and when to go~

This finals, I studied pretty hard, even harder than last semester.. Hope I will get better results and get my CGPA pulled up higher~ I just want to be at least a 3 pointer. Next semester, I will be in year 3.. time really flies~ in another 2 years, I'll be one among millions of working class people.. by then, the real challenge begins!

I don't really know what to write anymore.. There are stuff which I'm going through now which upsets me but I don't really know how to put it in words.. Oh well, maybe some other time

Living together is hard for most people, even for a family,for a husband and a wife and so on..

For us students, somehow or sometimes, we are needed to stay elsewhere other than our home sweet home. So this is a challenge.. finding the right housemates!

Living together for a year with my housemates.. And I really don't wanna brag, but I find that my housemates are all great!

We have our differences.. but we set it aside, we tolerate each other.. We solve problem that occurred..

I know my housemates well.. I know what they like and what they don't like.. I know what kind of person they are.. And I certainly truly 100% know that I CAN TRUST THEM!

Shit has been happening lately.. But I still trust my housemates more than ever.. PERIOD

MTV World Stage 2009~!!! WooHoo~ First in Asia, and first in Malaysia~!!! It was the first ever big event that I have ever went!

It was terrific, the bands are great, and the crowd is spectacular!

Bands that came are Boys like Girls, Raygun, Hoobastank, Pixie Lott, The All-American Rejects, and Kasabian. The best performance was by Boys like Girls, Hoobastank and The All-American Rejects. I screamed my lungs out when they sang their best songs.. It was so hyper!

Didn't knew live performance would be so good and enjoyable.. almost went crazy there~

Thought it was a night to remember, but it was a night I'm going to forget..

Bon Odori, is a Japanese Buddhist observance honouring the spirits of ancestors, who return once a year to visit their families. Traditional dance is performed to entertain the spirits of the ancestors.

But what I see is a place for "Business People" to do their business.. selling over-priced stuff which quality differs from what it actually worth. The environment there is full of dust, dust coming out of the ground when people walk.. The haze is bad enough, the dust kills the night.

Took some pictures there, but I don't have it now. Will try to upload it in the next post~

I have 3 tests this week, and I've finished 2 of those tests.. both these 2 tests are so called "open book test", but in the end.. it turned out to be "open discussion test"~

Not that I'm complaining about it, but.. this makes me lazy!!! I am so lazy that I start to revise 1 day before the test.. All because these tests are "open book".. I am also busy with assignments and such..

Lately, my heart is no where near books.. It is always towards nothing but entertainment and fun..Where is my study mojo!?!?

I want better results.. but with the pace I'm on.. I'm going nowhere..

Must get my game back on~! HuRRah~!

Wow~ it's been some time since I updated my blog~!
Ok.. let's see.. what happened to me since my last post?

1) My computer RAM fried.
2) My old phone fall to the ground and losses it's vibrating function, so I bought a new one which cost only RM90~
3) Had my first test of the semester today.
4) Joined Dance club and hold a minor post.
5) Weekends I'll be back Kajang and "Menyambut Tahun Baru Cina" in my sista's house.
6) Ate at the same cafe twice, the food is OK but the service get 1 out of 10. I stressed OK.
7) Skipped Monday class twice because of the laziness in me.
8) Learn a new phrase called "pinky promise" ( new for me).
9) Left my water bottle in a cab.. so i got a new one~ with a Mini Cooper imprinted on it~
10) Got a haircut today after 2 months.
11) Will be shopping for heater later.
12) I am too busy to write a tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
13) Haven done any swimming this semester.
14) Have no clue about Fluid Mechanics (lecturer to blame).
15) Bought a new calculator~ model 570ES. Even though I bought it at a higher price, but I don't mind.
16) Witness my civil friend's structure crumble in front of my eyes.
17) Played "Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas" when I'm back at Kajang.
18) Will never take KTM during peak hours. I was "sardined" the other day.. and I hate it!!!
19) Took "Star LRT" for the first time, and found out it diverges into two ways.
20) Went Sungai Wang, Plaza Lowyat and Time Square more often.
21) Sang karaoke like no one else business.
22) Over spent on food (not saying that eating is bad, just that the price of the food is killing me).
23) Addicted to FB as usual.
24) Changed my shampoo brand into "Hatezi", a brand from Japan.
25) Never played basketball since my "black toe" incident.

Hmm.. can't think of anything else..

The last day of my 2nd semester has come to an end.. The end of my first year gone by so quickly, I barely knew!

Freedom? Of course it's important! What is life without freedom?

With freedom, one can do whatever he or she wants~ without hesitation..

Of course, everything has a limit.. Some things can be done and said freely, but it will affect other people's thoughts and feelings.. and sometimes the consequences will have a negative affect on ourselves and others. So even though you have the freedom to do it, think twice before doing so~ for the Chinese community, there is a saying, "think three times before you proceed".. If the action really needs to be done, then proceed with all cost~! No one can stop you once the decision is made!

To wrap up, freedom is always there~ One person will never be bounded to tightly.. at anytime, that person can break free from his or her chains, and gain whatever desired!

Today was just like any other day.. Woke up just in time, didn't have enough sleep, the only difference was that I'm going out with my friends later, so I styled up my hair a bit..

I ate with my friends at the school cafeteria. After that, my friends left me alone because they are going to class.. So I'm alone for awhile..

Actually, there is a girl in U that I've always wanted to meet and make friends with for quite some time.. but I did not take the initiative to talk to her..

Before my friends left for class, I saw that girl I mentioned earlier and smiled at her.. She smiled back~ When my friends left me alone, I stood up and approached her~! Didn't know what possessed me at the moment. Well.. used a bit courage there~ A normal yet quite awkward conversation happened.. I am out of words! This hardly ever happened to me! So I made a quick escape..

Minutes later, Me and my friend was suppose to meet at the cafeteria. I meet her again~ And this time, I used this opportunity to get her number! Finally.. Now I can get to know her better~

As planned, me and my friends went for "Lungs expansion" sessions. We singed till we are out of voice..

Today was a day well spent~ All I can say is.. Finally!

Well.. this sounds kinda odd.. I mean, really really odd!!

It all began with a late night. I was online till early morning.. around 2.30am. When I went to bed, I was dead tired.. But as usual, I need time to doze off.

1 minute.. 2 minutes.. 5 minutes.. 10 minutes.. 15 minutes.. 30 minutes!! Finally, when I feel I'm closing towards Dreamland.. A disaster happened!! The bear beside me starts to SNORE!!! Such wonderful timing.. Back to square one for me.. To avoid any casualties, I tried to gently wake the bear so that the snoring stops.. but i failed..Then I tried another approach! A harder one.. I used a weapon this time! I manage to stop the noise~

Few minutes later, I found myself in a very very mysterious place.. A ZOO!

This makes little sense.. Besides the fact that I'm in a zoo, it seems that I am dating someone in it..Wow.. this really is ODD.. Since when a zoo became a dating place..

It doesn't end just yet.. Once again I am awaken by the bear! This time I did not let him go easy.. I used my fist without hesitation..

Another few minutes passed.. I was back at the zoo.. with my date..

The clock hits 7.. Time to wake and "enjoy" another meaningless day at U.

Until now.. I still can't understand what is it with me, the zoo and my date.. Am I still intact with earth? Hope I'm not that far off..

After long and hectic weeks, finally.. all tests and assignments are to a halt. Now, only one thing remain.. the Finals!

12 weeks passed, 2 left.. and this 2 will be a new struggle... a struggle for a better future! Time flies like no one's business.. students like me will complain about the insufficient time given in a day, and sadly, nothing results from that but time wasted.

Another 3 years and I will be forced into the real world.. a life of a student will then be a life of a job holder..

This assignment has taken weeks to accomplish! I've skipped many classes just to finish it.. and finally it's done!

The G-clamp.. given in a rough and ugly shape.. is filed and grind into a smooth and clean piece.. perspiration followed in the fabrication of G-clamp, together with muscle and aches!
But it's totally worth it, after much hard work.. the product reveals itself!

The satisfaction is assured. What comes out of this long and tiring process is sure to be appreciated~ even though it is imperfect, you will still agree that it is nice and worthwhile~!

Enough talk, let me show you what weeks of endurance gave me!

What is the most essential part of life?

Well, as you can see, life is divided into many parts. There are parts of your life used up to consume food, parts of life used to exercise, parts of life used to socialize, parts of life used to pass motion, parts of life used to clean yourself.. and not to miss out the most VITAL part of life! That is the SLEEPING part!

Are there any who disagrees with this statement? None should doubt that sleeping is the most enjoyable time in our lives! When we sleep, we can do whatever we like.. in our dreams that is~

A day before, me and my buddies gathered together. We read, we asked, and we taught each other whatever that is in doubt. We are not exactly having fun, but it is a need to do it.

We started our struggle at 12 noon.. time passes swiftly and by the time we decided to depart, it's already 5pm. Me and my twin, K walked back to our apartment, enduring the heat and panting like puppies.. We rested ourselves and was set to continue the struggles later on. By dusk, my buddies again reunite, but this time, it is in my apartment. They packed food for me and K. We sat and ate like a family.

The day has come. That hour was tough, but it went through like it didn't happened.

The aftermath was even surprising.. The invigilator wanted to discuss about the questions straight away! Such a brilliant way to hurt the students..

Moral of the story: prepare earlier for tests and exams (this doesn't really apply for most students).

So earlier posts will bore people to death. But anyways, i like to write something better.. umm.. how do I put it? I like to write something more sophisticated.. more deep.. but I'm not sure whether this describes my first few posts.

Anyways, I'm new and in need of improvement! Which live human being doesn't needs to be improved?

My friend, Intel Pentium 4

As the world ages, making it more modern and sophisticated, words have became more colorful in many different ways. For instance, nowadays, people write to each other using e-mail. What is e-mail 50 years before? Now, "snail-mail" is used instead of the ordinary mail. This proves that the world becomes more advanced everyday.

Thus, for people whose brain works slower than a usual one, will be declared as snail brain or bird brain. But that is in the past.. To improve ourselves and adapt to the modernization happening all around us, we now switch from the term "bird brain" to "Intel Pentium 4", or "Pentium 4" in short. For modernized people, you would understand how does this match the statement. If you do not understand, you yourself can now hold the title of "Pentium 4".

The main point here is.. My friend, whose name we call V from now on, is also my housemate. He is a great friend and I am grateful to have known him, otherwise, i would not have came up with this new term. He is the father of this term, but he will not be too proud of it. He deserves this title because of numerous things he has done. For instance, he was shocked and terrified by the toy spider hanging in front of his room.. and guess what? The toy spider has been hanging there for 1 week!

That was definitely the joke of the day. Me and my non-blood-related twin brother, K (we'll use their initials for copyright purposes) laughed till our stomachs burst. Living with them is part of my life I'll never regret, and also a part that I'll never forget.

It's been a month or so.. A paper cut will heal within few days, a bruise will go off within few weeks, but a wound in the heart takes much longer.. The heart is strong, but at times, it is the most fragile organ a person can hold. With it, a person can feel love, compassion, lust.. sorrow, pain and torment must also not be left out. When the heart is wounded, the person will feel no other but pain.. a pain that is so agonizing, it is hard to describe.. imagine a knife straight to the heart.

Life goes on, whether you are sad or happy. I chose to live the best out of it. Forget the past, or a better future will not come..

My title? According Collins COBUILD dictionary, Life is the quality which people, animals, and plants have when they are not dead, and which objects and substances do not have. For me, life is to be enjoyed to the fullest, no matter who or whom the person may be, wherever the person is, life should not be thrown away like garbage. I believe that every person is gifted, gifted with the gift of life.

Why is it so hard for people to understand life is important? People that wage wars, people that cause trouble, people that discriminates, people who are racist, people who are trying to hurt others.. do they not have any other purpose in life but to cause misery and pain to others? These are what sickens me.. Why must we live a life that is full of hatred and sorrow? Can this world be free from troubles? If such can be true, it will be heaven on earth, and that is not about to happen anytime soon.. So what I am trying to say is.. ENJOY YOUR LIFE WHILE IT LASTS!!!

Time is not going to wait for us to eat, it will never wait for us to study, it will never wait for us to finish our assignments, and it will definitely never wait for us to ENJOY LIFE! Friends and family, life is short.. appreciate it.
